Corazon El Nido Inn: Your Palawan Paradise Awaits!
Corazon El Nido Inn: My Messy Love Affair with Palawan's Paradise (and a Few Stumbles)
Alright, buckle up buttercups, because I'm about to spill the (possibly sandy) beans on Corazon El Nido Inn: Your Palawan Paradise Awaits! I'm not gonna lie, I was itching for a getaway. Months of staring at spreadsheets had turned me into a digital prune, and Palawan, with its postcard-perfect beaches, was calling my name. And so, off I went, armed with sunscreen, a questionable amount of optimism, and a backpack full of hopes and dreams.
Accessibility: A Mixed Bag, Sadly.
Let's rip the bandaid off early. While the website says "Facilities for disabled guests," and there's an elevator (thank the heavens!), the reality on the ground wasn't as smooth as the sand. Navigating the walkways with a wheelchair could be…tricky. Some areas are definitely easier than others. Getting to the pool? Achievable, but maybe not effortlessly. This deserves some serious attention, Corazon.
The Tech Stuff: Wi-Fi that Works…Mostly!
Okay, praise the Wi-Fi gods! Free Wi-Fi in all rooms! and it actually worked most of the time. Score! I could post my envy-inducing pictures, update my travel blog, and, you know, pretend to be productive. Wi-Fi in public areas was also decent (though I did experience a few moments of digital purgatory, which is always a mood killer). Internet access in general was decent, there might be Internet [LAN] in some rooms, but I didn't test it.
Cleanliness and Safety: They're Trying, Bless 'Em
The pandemic has clearly left its mark. Anti-viral cleaning products were visibly present. Daily disinfection in common areas, rooms sanitized between stays, and Staff trained in safety protocol, all of these were reassuring to a germaphobe like myself. Hand sanitizer was plentiful (a necessity in these times!). They went for Professional-grade sanitizing services, and they also had the Sterilizing equipment. And I'm so happy because as a cautious person, I felt like I was in safe hands. There was Physical distancing of at least 1 meter between tables in restaurants and it was a relief to see that they did not let any details slip away.
Dining, Drinking, and Snacking: Food, Glorious Food! (With a Few Hiccups)
This is where things get interesting. The Asian breakfast was a delight (hello, mango sticky rice!). The Western breakfast? Solid. They offered Coffee/tea in restaurant and Coffee shop. There was a Bar, a Poolside bar, and Restaurants galore. Happy hour? Yes, please! The restaurants served Asian cuisine in restaurant, International cuisine in restaurant, and Vegetarian restaurant options (a big thumbs up from this veggie). And let's be honest, the bottle of water placed in your room is a tiny gesture that feels so luxurious.
But…the food situation wasn't always perfect. There was a bit of a wait for some dishes at times (the kitchen felt a bit understaffed at certain points, I swear I saw the same chef running between like 3 different kitchens lol). And while the quality was generally good, there was a time when I was served what looked like a sad, lonely salad, so I ended up ordering a pizza and it was perfect. Also, maybe I'm just a greedy pig but I did wish there were more options for that Breakfast [buffet].
Things to Do & Ways to Relax: Bliss (and a Bit of Gym-Induced Pain!)
Okay, this is where Corazon truly shines. The Swimming pool! The Swimming pool [outdoor]! The Pool with view! Absolutely stunning. I spent hours just floating, staring at the turquoise water, and pretending I was a mermaid. Truly, a slice of heaven.
They have a Fitness center and also a Gym/fitness, which I attempted to visit. I say attempt because after a grueling 15 minutes on the treadmill I decided my sun-kissed, beach-ready body was perfectly fine without further torment. But they have a Sauna, Spa, Spa/sauna, Steamroom, Massage, and a Foot bath. I did a Body scrub and Body wrap, just blissful. Seriously, I came home feeling like a new woman.
The Rooms: My Temporary Paradise
My room? Not gigantic, but clean, comfortable, and with all the essentials. (Think Air conditioning, a comfy Bed, Free bottled water & Complimentary tea, a Hair dryer, and a Refrigerator. The view from my High floor room was breathtaking. The Bathrobes were heavenly. It was mostly Non-smoking and had Smoke detector and Smoke alarms so I felt safe. I loved the Blackout curtains: I could fall asleep while it was still bright outside.
Services and Conveniences: They've Thought of Almost Everything!
They had a Concierge, Cash withdrawal, Currency exchange, Luggage storage, and Laundry service, all of which proved invaluable (especially after my clumsy attempts at snorkeling). The Daily housekeeping was on point. They even offered a Doctor/nurse on call which, thankfully, I didn't need (I dodged those rogue jellyfish!).
For the Kids: Family Vibes
They have Babysitting service, and are definitely Family/child friendly. I didn't travel with kids, but I did see families having a great time, splashing around the pool and building sandcastles. Kids meal.
Getting Around: Smooth(ish) Sailing
They offer Airport transfer (essential, because getting to El Nido is a journey in itself!). There's Car park [free of charge], but also Car park [on-site], and they had Taxi service available, which was a lifesaver when I decided I needed a quick escape from the beach one afternoon. They also have Bicycle parking.
My Love-Letter to Corazon
Look, Corazon El Nido Inn isn't perfect. There's room for improvement on the accessibility front, and sometimes the kitchen struggles to keep up. But the stunning location, the friendly staff, the overall vibe of relaxation, and the sheer beauty of Palawan…it's enough almost to forgive the minor flaws. And the good stuff REALLY shines.
Would I go back? Absolutely. Without a doubt. Already planning my next trip.

Chennai's Hidden Gem: O Ram Residency - Unbeatable Hotel Deals!
Okay, buckle up, buttercup, because this isn't your grandma's perfectly-lined-up itinerary. This is me, throwing myself, and all my anxieties (and excitement!) into a week at Corazon El Nido Inn, Palawan. Let's see if I survive… and maybe, just maybe, fall in love with the place.
Corazon El Nido Inn: My Messy, Glorious, Potentially Sunburnt Adventure
Day 1: Arrival and Existential Dread in Paradise (Or, My Luggage is Probably in Tokyo)
- Morning: Landed in El Nido. HOLY MOLY. The air is thick with humidity and…possibilities? I hope. Immediately hit a snag. My luggage? Vanished. Poof. Gone. Probably sunbathing in Tokyo or something. Cue the panic attack (mostly internal, I’m trying to keep it together). The inn? Finding it feels like a scavenger hunt worthy of Indiana Jones. Driving through the town is so exciting that the road is so rough! Ah the adventures of Phillipines.
- Afternoon: Found the Corazon El Nido Inn! Whew. It's… charmingly basic. Think "tropical chic" with a healthy dose of "rustic realness." My room is small, but clean, and has a balcony overlooking… well, something green. Honestly, anything green after staring at airport beige is a win. The air conditioning is a godsend. Decided to wander around the town to find a new suitcase, and a new clothing so I can relax.
- Evening: Dinner at a beachfront restaurant. Ordered fish… which I’m pretty sure was the fish I saw swimming in the ocean earlier (eek!). The sunset? Breathtaking. Seriously, Instagram-worthy. Ate too much, then wandered back to my room, still missing my luggage. The existential dread made a reappearance. But hey, at least the sunsets are free!
Day 2: Island Hopping… and Hello, Sea Sickness?
- Morning: Woke up feeling surprisingly optimistic (and slightly seasick from last night's fish). Booked an island-hopping tour. They promised "pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters." I'm cautiously excited. Got my new essentials from the town (clothes, etc).
- Afternoon: Island hopping! This is it! First stop: Secret Lagoon. Crowded. Super crowded. Felt a bit like I was swimming in a human soup. The lagoon itself? Pretty, but the sheer number of people… I'm already feeling the fatigue of being surrounded by people. Next stop: Hidden Beach. Now this is more like it! White sand, turquoise water, swaying palm trees. It was… the stuff of postcards. Tried snorkeling. Failed miserably. Got water up my nose and panicked. Swallowed some saltwater. Regretted everything.
- Evening: Dinner involved lots of ginger and a very strong anti-seasickness medication. The island hopping was amazing, I'm glad I did it. Back at the inn, there's a gecko in my bathroom. I think we've established a truce. He stays in my room, I stay on my bed. We're good.
Day 3: Las Cabanas Beach & The Great Zip Line Fiasco
Morning: After the previous day's chaos and after finding my inner peace, I grabbed a motorcycle to go to Las Cabanas Beach. Spent the morning lazing on the sand, drinking fresh coconut water. Feeling Zen. This is what I came for. The simplicity. The quiet. The escape… before the chaos.
Afternoon: The zip line! Against my better judgment (and my fear of heights), I decided to do the zip line. "It's safe!" the staff assured me. "Amazing views!" they promised. I nearly died of a heart attack. The view? Stunning. The experience? Terrifying. (See image of me clinging to the safety harness, eyes squeezed shut). I survived. Barely.
Evening: Ate a celebratory (and perhaps slightly over-the-top) burger at a beach bar, watched the sunset, vowing to never, ever, willingly go on a zip line again.
Day 4: Nacpan Beach & The Search for the Perfect Photo (and the Perfect Cocktail)
Morning: Nacpan Beach, here I come. Another motorcycle adventure through crazy roads, another breathtaking view at the end. This beach is long, wide, and… empty-ish? Finally, the space. Took a million photos. Tried to capture the essence of the place.
Afternoon: The search for the perfect cocktail. It's a serious mission. Tried a few different beach bars. Discovered the perfect combination: rum, pineapple juice, a touch of lime, and a view of the ocean. The perfect photo, and the perfect cocktail, are now complete!
Evening: Found a tiny little bar that serves amazing seafood barbecue. Talked to the bartender, learned about his life, and the struggles of living in El Nido. Realized how insulated my life is. Felt like I needed to be more appreciative.
Day 5: Inland Exploration & The Lost Art of Doing Nothing
- Morning: Hired a tricycle (the local version of a tuk-tuk) to explore inland. Visited a waterfall – stunning! But crowded. Again with the crowds. They're following me, I swear!
- Afternoon: Back at the inn. Decided to do exactly NOTHING. Sat on the balcony, read a book, and listened to the sounds of the jungle. Pure bliss. The art of doing nothing is now complete!
- Evening: Ate at a small, local restaurant. Learned a few words of Filipino. Got a genuine smile from the server. This trip is slowly turning into something.
Day 6: Final Island Hopping & The Bitter-Sweet Farewell
- Morning: Another round of island hopping, this time choosing a less-touristy route (or at least, that's what they promised). Snorkeled with turtles! Amazing. Absolutely magical. The water? Crystal clear.
- Afternoon: The final sunset. Sat on the beach, watching the colors explode across the sky. Feeling a profound sense of peace, mixed with a good dose of sadness. It's always hard to say goodbye, even to a place that’s challenged you.
- Evening: Packed my (hopefully) not-lost luggage. Had a final dinner. Made plans for the future.
Day 7: Departure and the Promise of Return
- Morning: Woke up early, packed my bags, and ate a quick breakfast. Said goodbye to the gecko. Promised to recommend the inn to all my friends.
- Afternoon: Headed to the airport.
- Evening: Boarded my plane, and smiled at the fact that I had survived my adventures.
So, did I fall in love with Corazon El Nido Inn and Palawan? Yes. Absolutely, unequivocally yes. Did it go perfectly? Absolutely not. But the imperfections, the hiccups, and the moments of utter panic? Those are the parts that made it unforgettable. And, hey, maybe my luggage will finally show up. Eventually.
